Odisha: Universities, Colleges to resume functioning from June 1

Bhubaneswar: All State Public Universities and Degree Colleges coming under the Higher Education Department of the Odisha Government shall resume functioning from June 1.

The State Government has written to the vice chancellors of the universities and the principals of the colleges in this regard.

“The summer vacation as declared by this department will come to an end on 31.05.2021. After the end of summer vacation, the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) shall resume functioning w.e.f. 01.06.2021 as per the earlier guidelines communicated,” the government said in the letter.

Odisha Government had on May 4 announced summer vacation for all higher educational institutions in the state from May 5 to May 31.

As per the order, no online classes or examinations were held during the period. Prior to that, online classes by various universities and colleges were underway in the state.

Worth mentioning, the state government is yet to take any decision regarding physical classes at the educational institutions, which were suspended due to the second wave of COVID-19.
