Odisha unlock: Night curfew timing revised

Bhubaneswar: In view of decline in Covid TPR in Odisha, the State Government announced additional relaxations in restrictions, revising the timing of night curfew with effect from September 1.

The night curfew will remain in force from 10.00 PM to 5.00 AM in all urban areas of the State till October 1, announced Special Relief Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena today.

 

As per the new Covid-19 guidelines for the month of September, the night curfew will continue to restrict movement of vehicles and non-essential activities to contain spread of Covid-19.

During the unlock period, all types of shops and malls will remain open across the State from 5.00 AM to 10 PM everyday.

However, during the night curfew, the district magistrates/municipal commissioners/commissionerate police shall allow/restrict any such activities as would be necessary in the interest of general health of public and for prevention of spread of Covid-19.

Earlier, the night curfew was imposed from 8.00 PM to 6.00 AM till August 31.

The SRC appealed to all citizens to adhere to Covid guidelines in public and work places in fight against the pandemic.
