Odisha vet attacked for opposing marijuana smoking

Sambalpur: A veterinarian was attacked by a group of youths for opposing marijuana smoking behind a veterinary dispensary in Rairakhol here in the district on Sunday.

The injured veterinarian identified as Dr. Akash Mishra was admitted to a hospital in Rairakhol in critical condition.

According to reports, Dr. Mishra had been to the dispensary for an emergency work on Sunday. He spotted four-five youths were smoking marijuana behind the dispensary. When he opposed them from the act, the irate youths called their associates and attacked him with a hatchet and stones.

He sustained injuries on his entire body in the attack.
