Bhubaneswar: Veteran journalist Sarat Mishra breathed his last today. He was 87.
Mishra passed away while being treated at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, family sources said.
Born in Sorada area of Odisha’s Ganjam district in 1936, Mishra began his career as a journalist in the Eastern Times Group.
He had worked as the news editor of Odia daily Sambad. Mishra was the founding editor of vernacular daily Anupam Bharat.
The veteran journalist had also worked as the editor of Samaj. He had command over English, Odia and Bengali literature, sources said.
