Odisha: Vice Prez to address first convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu will come to Odisha on a one-day visit to attend the first convocation ceremony of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, on August 16, an official said today.

Home Secretary Asit Tripathy informed to the media about Naidu’s visit after heading a meeting in this regard at State Secretariat. He said the government will make all arrangements for smooth visit of the Vice-President.

As per the schedule, Naidu will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport at 8 am on August 16 by a special IAF aircraft. He will be given a guard of honour at the airport, Tripathy said.

From the airport he will go to the AIIMS campus by road amid tight security, he added.

The meeting was attended by Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Kumar Sahoo and other senior officials of the state government.
