Odisha: Video of cops eating ‘Mahaprasad’ with shoes on goes viral; complaint filed

Puri: Alleging disrespect to the ‘Mahaprasad’ of the Shree Jagannath Temple, a police complaint was lodged against two police personnel in the pilgrim town of Odisha today. The complaint was filed by Shree Jagannath Bhakta Parishad at the Singhadwara Police Station after a video of the two police personnel having the ‘Mahaprasad’ while wearing shoes and sitting on a bench on the temple premises went viral on social media.

Also, the Shree Jagannath Bhakta Parishad threatens to stage a protest in front of the Puri SP office if stringent action is not taken against the two police personnel within seven days.

Worth mentioning, another video of some police personnel having the ‘Mahaprasad’ at the Gundicha Temple during the Rath Yatra went viral on social media. But the district administration is yet to take any action against the police personnel involved.
