Odisha: Vigilance arrests Junior Engineer in bribery case

Jajpur: The Vigilance today arrested a Junior Engineer (JE) working with the Energy Department in Odisha’s Jajpur district for demanding and accepting bribe. The Junior Engineer, Swadhin Kumar Sahoo, who is working with Badachana Electrical Section, Jajpur was caught red-handed by the sleuths.

Based on a complaint filed by one Chittaranjan Naik of Sunguda village, the Vigilance officials of Jajpur unit laid a trap. While the JE was demanding and accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from Naik to shift an 11 KV wire existing close to the complainant’s residential building, the sleuths arrested Sahoo.

The sleuths also seized the bribe amount from the possession of the JE.
