Odisha Vigilance arrests suspended ASI; DA constitutes 117% of income

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance today arrested Jayadas Khora, suspended ASI of Police, Malkangiri district, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Khora was found in possession of disproportionate assets which constituted 117% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

After the arrest, he was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.

Officials of the anti-corruption agency had on April 28 raided several places belonging to Khora. The following movable and immovable assets worth over Rs 1.11 core were unearthed during the searches by the Vigilance.

  • Rs 1,00,250 cash.
  • One double storeyed building at Megharaj constructions site, Koraput worth over Rs 41.24 lakh.
  • One triple storeyed building at LIC Colony, Koraput adjacent to his relative’s house worth over Rs 33.67 lakh.
  • 2 plots measuring 1.95 acres at mouja Machhara and 0.05 disimil at mouja Koraput Nagar in Koraput district.
  • 290 grams of gold and silver ornaments, bank & insurance deposits and household articles worth over Rs 23.91 lakh.
  • 3 two-wheelers.
