Odisha Vigilance raid on Chief Civil Supplies Officer: Assets worth crores including 500 gm gold traced

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials today traced assets worth crores of rupees while raiding various places in connection with allegation against Prashanta Kumar Gantayat, Chief Civil Supplies Officer, Bhubaneswar, regarding possession of properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The properties include multiple plots, houses and 500 grams of gold ornaments.

During house searches, the following assets in the name of the official and his family members were unearthed.

1) One triple storeyed building under construction at Pandara, Bhubaneswar.

2) One double storeyed building located at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.

3) An apartment at Neelachal City Canal Road, Badagada, Laxmi Sagar, Bhubaneswar.

4) Another apartment located at village Bhabanipur, Berhampur-II of Neelachal Heights.

5) Five plots, including three in prime areas of Bhubaneswar.

The measurement and valuation/ assessment of the buildings/ flats/ plots was being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

6) Gold weighing 536 grams.

7) Bank and insurance deposits of over Rs.1.37 crore.

8) Cash Rs 1,21,960.

9) A four-wheeler and 2 two-wheelers.

Till last reports came in, the raids were underway while the total value of his movable and immovable properties was yet to be calculated.
