Odisha: Vigilance seizes unaccounted cash from Civil Supplies Officer

Cuttack: The Vigilance officials today seized Rs 1.1 lakh cash from Civil Supplies Officer (CSO), Kalahandi, Siba Prasad Dora and detained him for questioning.

After getting allegations of taking illegal gratification from different rice millers of Kalahandi against Dora, the officials of Vigilance Koraput division kept a watch over his movement and activity.

Accordingly today, the sleuths intercepted the Civil Supplies Officer near Hill Town in Bhawanipatna on his way while he was proceeding in a Bolero vehicle.

During a search, the sleuths found Rs 1.1 lakh from the vehicle. When Dora was quizzed, he could not provide satisfactory account of the cash. Following this, the Vigilance registered a case against him.

Also, the sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at his residential house located at Hill Town and native village in Nabarangpur. The inquiry into the case is on.
