Bhubaneswar, Nov 28:
Only 79 cases have been registered against allottees of plots/houses/flats under the discretionary quota (DQ) by the Vigilance so far, sources revealed.
Vigilance is planning to summon these persons for interrogation soon, the sources added.
However, there is no clear indication on when these people would be interrogated.
The anti-corruption wing is examining documents to ascertain if any irregularities were committed in the allotments.
The Vigilance is registering cases against DQ allottees after due verification of documents.
Notably, following controversy over multiple allotments of plots/flats under DQ, the state government constituted a taskforce under senior IAS officer Taradatt.
The task force in its report submitted to the government on November 3, 2014, recommended cancellation of allotments of plots/flats/houses made under DQ from January 1, 1995, onwards. The state government approved the task force report in December the same year.
The state government on May 2, last year gave the go-ahead for a vigilance inquiry into multiple allotments of land, flats, and houses under the discredited DQ in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack urban areas since January 1, 1995.
A total of 1791 allotments had been made under DQ since January 1, 1995.
Out of this, 803 had been allotted by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), 921 by Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and 67 by Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB).
