Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall today, the Regional Meteorological Centre here forecasted.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nawarangapur and Koraput, the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Boudh, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur, the Meteorological Centre added and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal coasts and extends up to mid tropospheric levels. It is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand during the next 2-3 days.

Another circulation is likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal around July 18, the agency said.

In view of above meteorological features, wet spells of monsoon rainfall activity likely to continue over Odisha with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall, it added.
