Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience thundersquall today, the Regional Meteorological Centre forecasted.
“Thundersquall with wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur,” the Meteorological Centre said.
Under its impact, minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and some damage to standing crops may occur. People are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and be ready to move to safer places accordingly, it said.
The Meteorological Centre has issued Orange Warning for the districts.
“Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Boudh,” the Meteorological Centre predicted and issued Yellow Warning for the districts.
