Odisha weather: Cyclonic storm to form within 48 hrs

Bhubaneswar: The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over north Andaman Sea is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm within 48 hours, a bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued today said.

“The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over north Andaman Sea moved west-northwestwards during past 06 hours and now lies over north Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to move northwestwards, concentrate into a Depression over eastcentral Bay of Bengal during next 06 hours. It is also very likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm and move northwestwards during subsequent 48 hours,” the bulletin issued at 5.30 AM said.

As per the Regional Meteorological Centre, dry weather is very likely to prevail in Odisha till November 7. However, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha from November 8, it predicted.

The coastal part of Odisha is likely to witness increase in rainfall during the subsequent two days, it added.
