Odisha: Woman, 2 minor daughters dead in road mishap

Bhawanipatna: Tragedy struck a family after a woman and her two children died in a road mishap on NH-26 near Chancher under Kesinga police limits in Kalahandi district today.

The woman, her nephew and two minor daughters were going to Titilagarh from Bhawanipatna this afternoon, when the driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control and hit a roadside palm tree near Chancher.

The deceased have been identified as Anandini Mishra (38), and her two daughters — Rozi Dash (11) and Eli Dash (09). Anandini’s nephew Badal Bikash Mishra and driver Arun Bishi were grieviously injured in the accident.

Later, all were rushed to a hospital in Kesinga, where the woman and her children were declared dead. The injured are undergoing treatment in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle could have skidded off the road as its drizzling since morning.

The Kesinga police rushed to the spot after receiving information and helped shift the deceased and injured in a 108 ambulance to hospital.

Sources said, the occupants travelling in Swift Dzire car bearing registration number OD 03 S 4100 were returning to their home in Titlagarh.
