Odisha woman abandoned mistakenly by hubby clears air on gangrape

Cuttack: A woman, who was mistakenly abandoned by her husband on the way in Angul district on May 3 night, denied the allegation of gangrape or any such kind of incident happened with her.

Police traced the missing woman from Jagatsinghpur town where she reached on Sunday and visited her sister’s residence three days after the incident.

She said that she was mistakenly abandoned by her husband at Nakchi in Angul district and she struggled a lot at night to get shelter and reach Jagatsinghpur.

“While we were moving in a car, we stopped for water on the way and I went f toilet. I came back for water bottle from the car and it was locked due to strong wind blowing outside at night. My husband thought that I am inside the car and drove the vehicle speedily mistakenly leaving me on the way. Being nervous, I requested the locals for help. Then, I took shelter someone’s home who told me to stay for two to four days until I get well. That person helped me boarding the bus from Angul to Cuttack and I reached my sister’s house here,” said the woman.

However, she refuted the allegation of experiencing any nightmare or gangrape by the miscreants in Angul after she was left out by her husband.

Clearing the air on allegation of gangrape and murder following her missing, she said, “No such thing has happened with me. I don’t know anything about the report. I am yet to contact my husband. Nobody knows about my whereabouts following the incident.”

The incident took place on May 3 night when the woman along with her husband and six-year-old daughter was travelling to her in-laws house in Jagatsinghpur from Sambalpur in a car.

According to reports, the husband came back to the site where he had mistakenly left his wife when he did not find her in the car after driving for around 15 km.

The missing case alleging gangrape and murder of the woman was lodged with Handapa police on Friday by her husband after search at Nakchi and other locations. The missing and alleged gangrape report was aired on media on Sunday.
