Odisha: Woman abducts 3-year-old girl from Puri Marine Drive

Bhubaneswar: A three-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by a woman at Marine Drive in Odisha’s Puri city yesterday.

Acting upon a complaint lodged by the girl’s father, Baliapanda police in the Holy City have launched a probe into the incident.

As per the complaint, the girl’s father runs a green coconut shop near the Marine Drive in Puri.

A woman travelling in a car came to the shop of the girl’s father and purchased a green coconut in the evening hours of yesterday. The woman allegedly abducted the girl, who was roaming nearby, while her father was busy in his shop. The car vanished from the spot immediately, said the complaint.

“The girl’s father lodged a complaint with us. We have launched a probe into the incident by collecting CCTV footage for the locality,” said an official of Baliapanda police.
