Odisha: Woman accountant embezzles teachers’ salaries worth Rs 39 lakh

Bhawanipatna: A woman accountant at the office of Bhawanipatna Sadar Block Education Officer (BEO) in Odisha's Kalahandi district allegedly embezzled over Rs 39 lakh meant for the payment of salaries to teachers.

The woman accountant embezzled the money after transferring it to her personal account, sources said.

The incident came to the fore after BEO Thakur Sahoo lodged a complaint in this regard with Bhawanipatna Town police limits.
