Odisha: Woman dies in freak accident in steel plant

Jajpur: A woman died on the premises of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited after being hit by a train in Kalinga Nagar this morning.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Ananga Manjari Rout, a resident of Paikapur under Kabatabandha police limits.

Rout was a senior operator in the SMS section of the plant and was living in a rented house in Danagadi.

According to reports, she was on her way to work on a two-wheeler when a train carrying hot iron hit her.

The labour union have alleged that the mishap occurred to to departmental negligence.

The body has been kept in the Community Health Centre in Danagadi for post mortem.
