Sonepur: Body of a married woman was found hanging inside a toilet at Kukia village under Ulunda block of Odisha's Sonepur district, today.

The deceased has been identified as Priyabati Mahalik. The body was spotted inside the toilet this morning, following which police were informed about it.

The body has been recovered by cops and sent for post-mortem. Though the reason behind the death of the woman is yet to be ascertained, father of the deceased alleged that she was murdered by her in-laws over dowry demand and lodged a complaint in this regard with Ulunda police.

On the basis of the complaint, police have registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
