Odisha woman hacks hubby to death over liquor consumption

Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly hacked her husband to death after a dispute between the two over his liquor consumption at Chhemanda village under Jamankira police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district last night.

According to police sources, Umesh Yadav of the village often used to thrash his wife Jayanti after coming to house in inebriated condition.

Last night, Umesh did the same and went to sleep.

In a fit of rage, Jayanti took an axe and hacked her husband to death on the spot.

On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and arrested the woman. Investigation into the matter is on.
