Odisha woman lands in jail for pouring hot oil on hubby

Bhubaneswar: The police in Bhadrak district of Odisha have arrested a woman on charges of pouring hot oil on her husband over family dispute a few days ago.

Victim Prafulla Mahana of Sabarang area of Bhadrak has sustained severe burn injuries in the incident, sources said.

“Prafulla’s wife poured hot oil on him over some family disputes on July 15. He sustained 50 per cent burn injuries in the incident,” said a villager.

A critically-injured Prafulla was rushed to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital by the locals. He was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated, sources added.

“Prafulla is now battling for life at SCB. The police have arrested his wife and sent her to jail,” added the villager.
