Odisha woman, paramour on the run arrested for killing hubby

Rayagada: Police have cracked a death mystery and arrested a woman and her paramour in connection with the alleged murder of her husband under Chandili police limits in Rayagada town of this district, SDPO Rashmi Ranjan Senapati informed in a press conference held here today.

According to the SDPO, the murder had taken place over an extramarital affair on Wednesday night. The victim man identified as Binaya Pal who was working as a cook was killed in Saipriya Nagar.

Chandili police had initiated a probe based on an FIR lodged by Bijaya’s father Rajanikant Pal.

“During the investigation, the probe team ascertained the murder occurred over a plan hatched by both the accused woman identified as Sunita Pal, and her paramour identified as G Kartik alias Munna. The love couple had affairs for the last several days,” the Rayagada SDPO expressed.

Police had earlier registered a case under Sections 302, 201, 120(B), and 34 of the IPC. An eight-month-old kid of Sunita and Bijaya has also been brought to the PS along with the woman, the SDPO added.
