Odisha woman poisons two children, ends life in Nayagarh

In a shocking incident, a woman poisoned her two children including a 4-month-old infant and ended her life in Nayagarh district today.

The deceased was identified as Banabasi Sahoo of Godi Sahi in Odagaon area of the district.

According to reports, Banabasi poisoned her two boys and consumed poison allegedly over a family dispute with her husband.

The three were rescued and rushed to Odagaon hospital in critical condition. After their condition deteriorated, they were brought to Nayagarh district headquarters hospital where Banabasi was declared dead.

“The condition of two children is critical. They have been put under our observation”, said Dr Asish Dikshit, Medical Officer, Nayagarh district headquarters hospital.

Meanwhile, the children have been shifted to SCB medical college & hospital in Cuttack.
