Odisha woman raped by husband’s friend in presence of spouse

Kendrapara: In a highly shocking incident, a woman was allegedly raped by a friend of her husband in the presence of her spouse in Kandira area under Rajanagar police limits of Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

As per a written complaint lodged by the woman with Rajanagar police, her husband invited his friend Braja Mallick to his house on June 20 when she was sleeping. Braja allegedly raper her in the presence of the victim’s husband. When the woman opposed the act, her husband thrashed her and threatened her with a knife.

She narrated the ordeal to her parents and lodged a complaint at the Rajanagar police station on June 22. On the basis of the complaint, police have registered a case.

“Investigation into the matter is underway. The truth behind the incident will come to fore after arrest of the accused and the woman’s husband,” said Rajanagar police station IIC Tapan Kumar Nayak.
