Odisha: Woman teacher in soup for stripping girl student

Berhampur: A woman teacher of a privately-run school in Baidyanathpur area in Ganjam district today allegedly took away leggings of a Class I girl student for not wearing proper uniform. Based on a complaint filed by the girl student’s father, police detained the woman teacher for questioning. However, later the police allowed the woman teacher to go.

As per reports, the school’s students were supposed to wear white uniform on Saturdays. But the girl student was wearing a white frock with black leggings. Irked over the school dress code violation, the woman teacher reprimanded the Class I girl student before taking away her black leggings.

After the class got over, the girl student told her father about the matter. Later the girl’s parent lodged a police complaint on basis of which the woman teacher was detained.
