Odisha: Young Journalist Amjad Badshah dies of Covid-19

Jharsuguda: A young Journalist from Jharsuguda district, Amjad Badshah passed away today afternoon due to coronavirus disease. The late Journalist was 44.

Badshah was initially admitted in the Jharsuguda Covid Hospital on April 7 after being tested positive for Covid-19. When his condition deteriorated, the young Journalist was shifted to the Rourkela Covid hospital. During the treatment at the ICU of the hospital Badshah died today afternoon.

He is survived by his wife and two children.

After completing a course in Journalism from the IIMC, Dhenkanal, he worked with several TV channels for several years. He had been running a digital channel for past six years.

As the news of Badshah’s demise broke out, condolences poured in from different quarters. Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, Brajrajnagar MLA Kishore Mohanty and journalists’ associations expressed grief over Badshah’s death.
