Odisha youth beaten to death after argument over egg price

Jajpur: A youth was allegedly beaten to death after he complained of high price of egg at Aruha market under Dharmasala police station limits in Jajpur district today.

The deceased has been identified as Biswabhusan of Tikara Sahi in Dharmasala. As per reports, Biswabhusan and his cousin Manas Deuri had gone to the market Wednesday afternoon. After eating boiled eggs at the market, the deceased youth complained about the price.

Following this, the duo and locals entered into an argument. Later the egg seller and other shopkeepers thrashed the two youths and locked up them in a room. The locals also informed the duo’s family members about the matter.

However, when the family members reached the spot, locals told them Biswabhusan has left the place. After a frantic search, the family members found the youth’s body near a railway track at Batijanga level crossing this morning.

Based on a complaint filed by the youth’s family, police have initiated a probe.
