Rourkela: A youth died by suicide after reportedly his family members did not buy a smartphone for him. The incident occurred in Ganju Toli of Samajodua village under Bisra police limits last night.

The deceased, identified as Sumit Pradhan was studying at a private ITI College. On Friday, he asked his father, Dubaraj Pradhan for a smartphone. As he was not having the required money, Dubaraj assured Sumit to provide a smartphone two months later. But Sumit remained unhappy with the decision.

Today family members of Sumit found his body hanging from ceiling with a piece of cloth.

After receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem.
