Odisha youth found hanging in under-construction overhead water tank

Sambalpur: A youth was found hanging from bamboo poles in an under-construction overhead water tank at Cheruapada area under Khetrajpur police limits in Odisha’s Sambalpur district today.

The deceased was identified as Suraj Ray, a resident of Cheruapada area.

Police recovered the body and sent it for the post mortem.

Though the reason behind his death is unclear, the prima facie suggested it as ‘suicide’.

The exact cause of his death will be ascertained after the autopsy, police said.

According to reports, the youth had gone outside the home without informing his family last night. The locals spotted him hanging from the bamboo poles installed around the under-construction overhead water tank on Sunday morning.
