Odisha youth held for circulating wife’s obscene photos on social media

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a youth for allegedly circulating his wife’s obscene photos on social media here in the city.

The accused was identified by Sitakant Mohapatra, a resident of Kapila Prasad area in Bhubaneswar.

He was arrested on Saturday following complaint by his wife with Airfield Police Station.

According to reports, Sitakant had married a girl of Jatni area secretly in the court in the year 2015 without knowledge of his family members. Few days after their marriage, he had moved to Hyderabad in search of job. When he did not return hometown for long time, the wife visited his house and informed his family about their marriage.

However, the family of Sitakant allegedly scolded girl. When she informed about it to Sitakant, he also abused her and told her to move from his life.

After few days, Sitakant allegedly circulated few photos featuring private moments of the girl with him on social media and made it viral to defame her in the society.

The victim lodged the complaint with police against him after she came to know about her viral photos on social media.
