Odisha youth held for sex on false promise of marriage

Tentulikhnuti/Bhubaneswar: Based on a complaint filed by a young woman from Nandahandi block in Nabarangpur district, the Tentulikhnuti police today arrested a man on charges of establishing sexual relationship with her on the pretext of marriage.

Officer-In-Charge of Tentulikhnuti police station, Pramod Kumar Naik informed the man, Yudhistir Mali from Saruguda village under Nandahandi block was arrested and forwarded to the court.

Naik added Yudhistir and the complainant came in contact with each other through Facebook one and half years back and became friends. Later the friendship transformed into a love relationship.

Yudhistir and the young woman gradually entered into a sexual relationship after the youth promised her to marry. But when Yudhistir refused to marry the young woman, she sought the help of the police and lodged a complaint.

Following probe the Tentulikhnuti police detained Yudhistir for questioning and later arrested him. Medical examination of both the complainant and Yudhistir was conducted today.

A case 104/21 has been registered at the Tentulikhunti police station.
