Odisha youth kills self, live streams suicide on Facebook

Balasore: In a shocking incident, a youth ended his life today by hanging himself with a rope in Mituani village under Khaira police limits of Balasore district. Moreover, the youth, identified as Pitambar Lenka (30) even live- streamed his suicide on social networking site Facebook.

Pitambar’s wife died a year ago. Family members of Pitambar said he had been in mental stress after his wife’s death. He has been survived by an 11-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.

Family members of the deceased said they are clueless about the motive behind the suicide.

Though no one lodged a complaint, police reached the spot after getting information from some villagers. After registering an unnatural death case, the police sent the body for post mortem and started an investigation into the matter.
