Odisha youth kills sister a year after sacrificing cousin

Balangir: A youth, who was arrested a year ago on charges of sacrificing his cousin, allegedly murdered his sister in Odisha’s Balangir district.

Body of the 12-year-old girl was today recovered by cops from Gujichaka forest under Sindhekela police limits in the district. The accused, identified as Sobhaban Rana, was earlier detained by police for questioning, during which he reportedly confessed to killing his sister and dumping the body in the forest.

Family members of the minor girl had lodged a complaint with police on December 27, last year after she went missing. On the other hand, it is being suspected that Sobhaban sacrificed his sister. He was arrested last year for allegedly sacrificing his cousin and released from jail two months ago after getting bail.

The accused had asked his sister to accompany him to bus stop on December 24, the day on which she went missing.
