Odisha youth steals gold from Delhi jewellery shop; arrested from Mumbai  

Balasore: Delhi police with the help of Mumbai police arrested an Odia youth from Mumbai for allegedly stealing gold coins worth Rs 4 lakh from a jewellery shop in the national capital.

The accused identified as Kashinath Mallick (22), of Rimei village under Nilagiri police was working in a jewellery shop of one Niraj Jain in Delhi.

On July 2, he stole the gold coins and went to his village to keep the same in his house. He later went to Mumbai and worked there by changing his name.

Sources said Kashinath had opened a fake Facebook account but uploaded his own picture in the account that helped the cops trace his location. The Delhi police later arrested the youth from Mumbai.

Yesterday, the cops went to Kashinath’s village by contacting Nilagiri police and seized the stolen gold coins from his house. The police later took the accused with them after seizing the coins.
