Odisha: Youth thrashed to death for opposing money misappropriation

Balasore: A youth was allegedly thrashed to death for opposing misappropriation of money at Baghmara in Nilagiri area of Odisha’s Balasore district.

The deceased has been identified as Baburam Singh. According to reports, Baburam’s grandmother, who is an undertrial prisoner, had given Rs 5,000 to one Budu Singh of the locality to give the cash to her family members.

However, Budu Singh misappropriated the amount. When Baburam confronted Budu Singh over the matter, the latter thrashed the former leaving him critically injured.

Though the victim was undergoing treatment, he breathed his last today. Acting on a complaint lodged by the brother of the deceased, police have started investigation into the incident.
