Odisha YouTuber teacher, his wife held in OSEPA question paper leak case

Bhubaneswar: An assistant school teacher and his wife were arrested by police over the leakage of question papers, which were earlier supplied by Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) for Class I to Class VIII examinations.

This was informed by Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh in a presser held here today.

The accused school teacher has been identified as 29-year-old Jagannath Kar and his wife as 27-year-old Rutupurna Pati. Jagannath works in Gopinath Jew Nodal upper primary (UP) school at Sridharpur village in Jajpur district. Jagannath and Rutupurna own a YouTube channel named ‘ProAnswer’.

According to a police source, OSEPA had previously lodged an FIR with cyber police on March 18 alleging the leakage of question papers. Acting on which, a probe team conducted a preliminary investigation and arrested one Sameer Sahu, who owns ‘Educational YouTube’.

During a detailed probe, the involvement of Jagannath and Rutupurna in the cybercrime was ascertained.

“Jagannath has been running the channel in the name of his wife Rutupurna,” DCP Singh said.

Information relating to question papers contained in purported videos was uploaded on their channel (ProAnswer) before the examinations to garner more subscribers and followers, the DCP added.
