Odisha's Bhawanipatna College gets university status

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has accorded university status to Bhawanipatna Autonomous College by altering the territorial jurisdiction of Sambalpur University under the provisions of Odisha Universities Act.

The new varsity has been named as Kalahandi University, official sources said. It will offer PG courses from the next academic session of 2019-20.

Worth mentioning, the State Government had on Saturday also accorded university status to Rajendra Autonomous College in Balangir district.
