As per Airport Director Suresh Chandra Hota, the airport has been chosen as the best airport under 2 to 5 million passengers category for 2018. “We humbly thank all our passengers, stakeholders and partners,” Hota said.

Three airports from India have been awarded as best airports (Under 2 to 5 million passengers in Asia-Pacific region). Apart from BPIA, Chandigarh Airport and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport (Indore) have also been awarded in this category.

The 2nd ACI Customer Experience Global Summit was held on Wednesday in Bali, Indonesia.

Worth mentioning, this award is accorded on the basis of independent survey amongst passengers on various parameters like security, safety, experience, ambiance, ease of availability and cleanliness.
