Odisha’s Bolangir town plunges into darkness as grid goes kaput

Bolangir, Feb 9:

The western Odisha town of Bolangir today plunged into darkness after a major failure at grid transformer at Sadeipalli.

According to reports, normal life was thrown out of gear post noon till night after the fault in the transformers.

The power failure took place around 1.30 pm after two transformers of 160 MVA went kaput.

The Energy deparment officials were pressed into service to restore the services on war-footing.

The power supply was restored in the town at around 9.00 pm.
