Bhubaneswar: Professor Chitta Ranjan Tripathy has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) in Odisha.

Prof Tripathy's appointment has received the nod of Governor and chancellor of universities in the state, Dr Senayangba Chubatoshi Jamir.

He was earlier working as the vice-chancellor of Sambalpur University.

Tripathy, a well known academician, had also remained in-charge of the VC of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur in 2011.
