Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crosses 6000-mark with 218 new positive cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally today crossed 6000-mark after 218 more persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. The tally now stands at 6180,  said Information and Public Relation Department.

While 198 cases have been reported from quarantine centres, remaining 20 are local contacts, said the department.

Of the total fresh cases, 211 have been reported from 21 districts:  Khordha (17), Nabarangpur (1), Ganjam (49), Angul (1) Cuttack (5), Jagatsinghpur( 29) Bhadrak (25), Kandhamal  (1), Nuapada (2), Jharsuguda (4), Keonjhar (2), Jajpur (1), Puri (10), Gajapati(27), Boudh (1), Sundargarh (11), Kendrapada (6), Sambalpur (2), Mayurbhanj (9), Koraput (1) and Balasore (7).

Besides, remaining seven cases are NDRF personnel, who were under quarantine, after returning from Amphan duty in West Bengal.

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 1865. While 4291 patients have recovered in the state so far, 17 succumbed to the virus.

In the last 24 hours, 4773 samples were tested whereas total 2,44, 588 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
