Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crosses 70K-mark; Khordha reports all-time-high of 524 cases

Bhubaneswar:  Odisha’s COVID-19 tally today crossed 70,000-mark after 2898 fresh positive cases were detected in the state in the last  24 hours. The tally now stands at 70,020.

Of the total fresh cases, 1792 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1106 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from all 30 districts with Khordha registering all time high of 524 cases followed by Cuttack (241), Nayagarh  (232) and Ganjam (226).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 22,651. However, 46,935 patients have recovered in the state so far.

It is pertinent to mention here that total 53,478 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 1,115,947 tests have been conducted in the state.
