Odisha’s fame has gone down over crime against women: Union Minister Pradhan

Bhubaneswar: Odisha tops the list of crimes against women in India. Women being assaulted in the State have demeaned its fame in the entire country and made Odisha feel ashamed as well, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said while addressing a sizable gathering of women in an extended executive body meeting of BJP state unit Mahila Morcha at the party office in Bhubaneswar, today forenoon.

BJP womens wing will intensify its agitation in the coming days to oppose crime against women and to help the benefits of welfare schemes of the Central government reach the people of Odisha.

“Several BJD leaders are involved in scams, corruption, and other crimes,” Pradhan alleged.

Besides, more than 80 percent of voters are keen to elect Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third consecutive time in the 2024 General Elections. The Central government has introduced several welfare schemes for women to make them self-reliant and empowered, the Union Minister asserted.

Accordingly, Modi Government implemented the Ujjwala Yojana, Mudra Loan Scheme, Soubhagya Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana), Gramin Sauchalaya and Swajal Dhara Yojana etc.

Worth mentioning, with simultaneous raids by Income Tax (I-T) sleuths still underway for the fifth day today on different locations linked to liquor traders in Odisha districts, the BJP state unit yesterday alleged that the BJD government and some leaders of the ruling party have unholy nexus with the tax evaders.
