Sambalpur: With an aim increase employability of students, Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) in Odisha’s Sambalpur district has decided offer a course in French from January next year.
A decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of the university’s academic council earlier this week.
Confirming the news, GMU Deputy Registrar Uma Charan Pati said the university has decided to launch a six-month-long French course from January for students and working professionals.
“The course will be provided on self-financing mode and fees and number of seats will be decided in a meeting of the syndicate in the first week of January,” Pati added.
The varsity has roped in a retired professor of French from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Paulasti Patel, to teach the course.
