The water level of Hirakud reservoir in Odisha’s Sambalpur district is all set to reach the optimum mark.

According to reports, the water level of the reservoir had touched 628.31 feet by 9 PM on Friday.

The reservoir has a maximum capacity of 630 feet.

While 68,000 cusecs of water was entering the reservoir, 42,700 cusecs of water was being released from it. Of this, 16,000 cusecs of water was being released through one sluice gate, 22,000 cusecs from the power channel and 4,700 cusecs through the canals, the reports said.
