Odisha’s Malkangiri alone recorded day temperature above 40 Degrees Celsius

Bhubaneswar: With rainfall activities at many places in Odisha, Malkangiri of the State alone witnessed day temperature above 40 Degrees Celsius, today.

Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum (day) temperature at 41.1 Degrees Celsius. This was followed by Phulbani (39.7), Boudh and Bhawanipatna both (39.0), Nabarangpur and Paralakhemundi both (38.8), Koraput (38.6), and Nuapada and Rayagada both (38.0). However, the remaining places recorded day temperatures below 38 Degrees Celsius, an evening bulletin issued by IMD regional centre said.

With a trough and wind discontinuity running from interior Odisha to north Tamil Nadu, hailstorm, thunderstorm with lightning accompanied by gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 KMPH is very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, the meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted earlier in the day.

Temperature forecast: Maximum temperature is very likely to fall by 2°C to 4°C during the next 48 hours and rise by 2°C to 3°C in subsequent three days thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.
