Odisha’s Nandankanan zoo to reopen from October 4

Bhubaneswar: Good news for wildlife lovers excited to meet animals during COVID-19 pandemic on outskirts of Bhubaneswar, as the Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) will reopen for visitors from October 4 after more than six-month closure.

The Nandankanan Zoological Park and State Botanical Garden will open from October 4, 2020, informed Deputy Director Jayant Das today.

Keeping the present situation in view, a special SOP adhering to Coronavirus guidelines have been prepared for the visitors after consulting with the State authorities.

The zoo has been closed for public since March 2020 after outbreak of COVID-19 in Odisha.

Source in the NZP said that proper arrangements will be made for tourists as per the COVID-19 guidelines. A fixed number of visitors may enter to maintain social distancing and avoid congregation inside the zoo.
