Talking to the media, chairman of Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Sudhanshu Sekhar Mishra said four seafood export agencies of Odisha exported 100 tonnes of seafood items in MV Hansa Castella ship to Vientnam from the port on Saturday.

Inaugurating the export of seafood at a function, Mishra said PPT would facilitate seafood exporters of the state by setting up a special container berth for the storage of seafood items very soon.

It may be mentioned that the seafood exporters from Odisha earlier exported their produce through Visakhapatnam, Haldia and Kolkata ports for which they had to spend extra money on transportation.

“However, with the Paradip Port providing us the export facility, we would be able to export more seafood items to other countries”, said Gorachand Mohanty, president of Odisha Seafood Exporters Association.
