Odisha’s second drug testing lab in Sambalpur soon

Sambalpur: Odisha government will soon set up a drug testing laboratory in Sambalpur for quality check of the medicines.

The tender process for the proposed project will start very soon, an official source said adding that the government has sanctioned Rs 8.33 crore out of total Rs 15 crore estimated for the project.

Currently, Odisha has only one drug testing laboratory in Bhubaneswar.

This is the much-awaiting project for people of Western Odisha where the drug samples can be tested with use of advanced technology by the skilled technicians.

Recently, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had laid the foundation stone for the project during his visit to Sambalpur on Feb 1.

According to reports, one-acre land has been identified at Singhpali near Kainsir Road in Sambalpur for the project.
